The plot thickens

I was eating a "Ned Kelly" today. It's one of those fake pies that contains gruel which may have a small percentage of animal protein. By accident. It's a fake pie, that' s the way they're meant to be. This particular specimen had "beef", "bacon" and "egg" in it.

I take a bite. What I see therein when I remove the pie from my face will both impress and insult me like never before.

Egg.

Yes, egg.

Yellow egg.

Real egg.

What the hell is real egg doing in my fake pie?!

I like egg...

...gimmie your egg pie!!!

Does it have tomato/spinach in it too?

Yes, I am probably describing a keesh here. I don't care.

isn't it pronounced quiche?

I think you meant spelt...and I assume you got the right spelling too.

Thanks a lot for the correction! :)

Im confused was it actually a quiche like 'anonymous' noted or was it like a meat pie with random bits of egg in it ??

it was a meat pie, and not with random bits of egg but with an egg, white and yellow... It was a pie that contained beef gruel, bacon and egg.

Hi, it's 'anonymous' again, i thought i'd reveal myself :)

Firstly, thankyou Alice, i meant 'spelt' rather than 'pronounced', so thanks for clearing that up :)

Secondly, and finally, a real pie has meat. Now did this pis of yours Obscu have a whole egg in it? Rather strange if it did eh...

I think you got jipped!

...wow...

the regression is quite apparent at the moment...

as for your particular predicament...maybe the large scoop they use in farms happened to pick up a cow AND a chicken at the same time...

a stripping, blending, stuffing, cooking, packing, travelling, purchasing, reheating and re-selling later; we have you complaining about the greatness of the dysfunctional farmer...

maybe the farmer was in a festive mood and decided to put in a mystery ingredient...who knows...

Hi Iasonas!

I think you are awesome! Much like Quiche! :D

Maybe you got a...mooncake pie! You know how mooncakes have an egg centre? It's probably that! ;)

I am amused how we put effort to discuss about pie.

Food, glorious food!

@ Alice

I do like your posts. Always rather interesting to read, as are Obscu's!

Yay for the mooncake pie!

I was thinking they invented a new breed of cow that lays eggs, then minced them up to make the beef pie - with egg!

Very interesting to think about...the pictures of a flying cow laying an egg is taking over my mind!!!!
