Hello gentle bloggers,
For my first post I will tell you a little about myself, but have no fear-I will not subject you to page-long descriptions that you won't be interested in. No personals. In a blog nutshell: sometimes I am convinced I should have lived in the 19th century. The first reason is simple: I am crappy when it comes to computers/technology stuff-iPhone-wa?!!? The second reason is this: I am the only 20 year-old girl I know with a Mr Darcy obsession. Sad, you may think? Well, apart from the whole lack of female rights thing (which convinces me that I really would be happier right here in 2008), I think Austen's time would have been pretty darn cool. Who could resist an arrogant, wealthy man in a top hat, seriously??
Any thoughts?
Perhaps you can convince me that men of today are much better? Or perhaps there are also some of you out there who wished they were Elizabeth Bennett when they read the words: "You must allow me to tell you how much I ardently admire and love you!". I mean, guys just don't speak like that nowadays :-p
I'm sure I will get used to this whole 'blog' thing over time...It is a big step for me contributing to Antif*ck, lol. So, thanks guys. Maybe you'll bring the latent blogger out of me?
Anyway, I'll keep it short and sweet for now.

If a man from the 19th Century somehow time-travelled to 2008 and said that line to me (preferably his name to be 'the Doctor') I will follow him where ever he goes...
Other than that, I really enjoyed reading your first post and curious to see what the guys have to say about this. ;)
First of welcome :D and sorry for my late contribution as i have been sick and well.... over worked and under payed as we students all are.
But as for gender equality that you mentioned in your post, well honestly if i was a female i would prefer to be back in during the civil rights and feminist movements, so i could feel like i am contributing to something... as for now student activism is at an all time low, thanks to howards VSU..... and stupid rudd for not changing vsu. ANYWAY before i rant on about why men still better off than women, all you need to do really is just look at the class ceiling effect, distribution of labour and wealth, the fact the ratio is that a women earns 0.70 per male dollar and many other fun facts....
but as for me, i think im going to enjoy the fact i have a penis, but dont worry im a little human rights defender at heart :)

Tally ho, dames and chaps. 'Tis the third time I've attempted to comment on this most thought-invoking of introductions and I feel rather silly about the whole affair. Each time, some dastardly interruption has led to the loss of my work.
In fact, as I write this a fourth (and hopefully final) time, I sit here in my top hat, ponderously prophecying a precarious predicament upon which my long-winded pomposity permantently and putridly perishes as my pretensiously pushy plaything proceeds to employ its puny power and fuck my shit up. Damn computers.
